With Matt Callison, Stephen Cina, Patrick Cunningham, Bill Helm & Vasa Mik
NESA has joined forces with Matt Callison and Acusport to exclusively provide the advanced Sports Medicine Acupuncture Certification Program on the East Coast with the next session starting July 2013!
“I am happy to partner with NESA to bring this unique opportunity to the East Coast. The SMAC program is gaining a lot of attention from not only the acupuncture world but it is starting to become recognized in the healthcare industry. SMAC graduates have received patient referrals, job opportunities, case management advice and are able to use the exclusive Sports Medicine Acupuncture® license”
Matt Callison, SMAC founder
Sports Medicine Acupuncture incorporates principles from Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and western sports medicine to view the patient's injury from a truly integrated perspective. The SMAC approach utilizes western medical and scientific knowledge in conjunction with acupuncture to prevent, recognize, assess, manage and rehabilitate injuries related to sport, exercise or recreational activity.
Sports Medicine Acupuncture blends orthopedic assessments, range of motion, manual muscle testing and palpation with TCM differential diagnosis, providing a paradigm of the athlete’s local injury and overall health (Qi, Blood, Yin, Yang, Shen). The objective of this combination is to improve the athlete’s healing potential, thereby strengthening the patient and decreasing injury rehabilitation time.
The four-module intensive program provides professional acupuncturists advanced training in Sports Medicine Acupuncture which can be completed in a little as 10 months in the intensive module program or taken per course over a longer period. Each class within the four modules can be taken individually or sequentially.
You can save by purchasing modules as a whole or purchasing the program in full. Classes can also be purchased individually per module. Please see the pricing for more details.
NOTE: SMAC participants paying by module have a one week grace period from the last day of instruction of a particular module to opt into the next one. After that one week period, enrollment for the next module is made open to the public.
