Insurance Info & Waivers

Below you will find information regarding required insurance coverage for the 2011-2012 academic year.  You will automatically be enrolled in the insurance plans applicable to you.  All fees for required coverage will appear on your fall semester invoice.

Malpractice Insurance: All matriculated students are required to carry malpractice insurance, provided through the American Acupuncture Council. Malpractice insurance covers you should anything happen to the individual you are treating. 

Accident Insurance: All matriculated students are required to carry Accident insurance while enrolled in NESA. Accident coverage covers you should an accident, such as a needle stick, occur while you are at NESA and NESA-affiliated sites. 

Sickness Insurance: The Commonwealth of Massachusetts requires all students taking 75% of a full time course load to carry sickness (or medical) insurance meeting minimum (QSHIP) standards. All matriculated students taking nine (9) or more credits in the fall term (75% full time) will be automatically enrolled in sickness insurance for the full academic year.  Family and other plans are available. Online Sickness Insurance Waiver: Students with a health insurance policy that meets or exceeds QSHIP standards, have the option of waiving coverage online through Consolidated Health Plans.
