Della Lawhon, MAOM, LicAc, DiplOM (NCCAOM)
Della Lawhon has professionally practiced and studied Asian medicine since 1998. She graduated from NESA with a dual focus on Japanese and Chinese acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine. Before NESA, she completed professional certification in Zen Shiatsu and Sotai at the Boston Shiatsu School. Della has studied with a number of experts in the field of Oriental medicine.
Della has worked in community health and research organizations. She worked as a health educator at women’s health clinics and public health departments. Della has lectured at national and regional professional conferences on evidence-based medicine and on applying research in clinical practice. She has co-written a systematic review of Chinese herbs effectiveness at managing seizures. She is on the advisory board of the Oriental Medicine Journal. She is a member of the American Association of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, the Community Acupuncture Network. Della is a KRI certified Kundalini yoga instructor, teaches yoga classes and leads a yogic lifestyle.
Della opened a community acupuncture clinic in Boston’s metrowest suburbs in 2007. She directs the clinic, which in addition to providing acupuncture offers herbal medicine, nutritional consultations, Asian bodywork, meditation and workshops.
